the dust will settle and we'll discover
friendships are not made like they were. the ground on which they stand is shakey and, while it may seem fertile on the top, below the topsoil is ground prone to cracks and breaks, letting what lives above fall down to the unmentionables that reside below the surface.
it used to be that any friendship was worth the risk. the pain that could acompany the crash was nothing when compared to the wonderlous moments of giggling and the glue that held together everything when times weren't as high as usual seemed cheap and in monstrous proportions.
these days nothing is worth the risk. everything must be cleared with some top agency in the mind in order to build anything on the earth and, often times, it is deemed unsupportable and unable to withstand a development. where there was trust to carry me from the beginning of the friendship to the end, there now is nothing but doubt. take everything good with a grain of salt.
i hate it but it would seem that it is the way it must be.
