the race is on and Pride is on the back stretch

home sweet home.

a place where the people are different (and don't mind looking over your fence to examine just how different you are), the business is small, and there is so signal anywhere.

except maybe at some points in downtown Grass Valley. maybe. it's doubtful though.

i always forget how beautiful it is here. the air smells so... piney fresh. the water tastes so good, even when it's not filtered. and best of all, it takes a few good days for my mother and sisters to fill me in on all of the gossip with the whole town, thoroughly.

the best part is exactly what i'm doing now. chillin on my couch in the living room. watching cartoon network. petting my dog. and not listening to hundreds of drunk UCSB students one street over, relentlessly trying to forget that every single blonde one of them is almost exactly the same as the next. yeah, i'd take a shot to that too.

cheers to not being at school. cheers to coming from a county whose shape would suggest the would-be murder of the next state over. cheers to going out in the rain, four-wheeling, and not being the only girl in a truck, tearing up the mud (although that is a close call. somehow only one other woman, not being of the surname Ross, comes to mind). but most of all, just cheers to being content.

for now.
